I am in the process of working on the tub of my M-38A1 and have found the print of the fire wall, but it does not show the toeboard gussets. I need to know does the M-38A1 have the channel type brackets that straddle the frame to hold it on.

Mine does not have them and I want to see if I need them before going too far. I have replaced the front floors with a set from Midwest Military and getting the hat channels done. and getting ready to do the firewall (need to close the bubba holes).

Weather here in OKC is just right for working in the Driveway this week.

Any help or photos would be appreciated... I have looked thru Wes' gallery and could not find a photo of that portion on an M-38.

Thanks

I have looked and under the M-38A1 body section there is the photo that 4X4 posted / linked to and then there are two photos showing those brackets on a jeep, from the underside cannot determine if it is an M-38 or M-38A1...

Just want to be sure before I go too far and mess it up...

I have a 64, m38a1, and i don't have the toe board supports that connect to the frame. I do know that the earlier to later 50's had them. Mine has the holes but no supports, and it's straight from the core.

Thanks for that info...

I can go without them at this time and put them on later if I need to...

I have the treaded holed in the frame, but my Toeboards do not have the tabs...

Will proceed this way for now...

This is in my M38A1 Body sub album. It is an M38A1.

This is in TM 9-804A the early M38A1 Operator's Manual.

Don't understand how you missed these. They are clearly listed as M38A1.

Yes, They were in the album, but there were photos of M-38A1s with out the toe board parts so better to ask the question than to assume... Correct.

I also tried to go to the manuals, that the photos referenced and unfortunately do not have those edition, mine are later copies.

Thanks for the info, now can proceed and try to fix the bubba mods on the tub.

New rear tailgate section being ordered today from Classic Enterprises...

Then to find the toe board parts...
