Hello,

I need several sizes of bolts and nuts for my M38. Tried autozone, Home Depot, Lowes and several other stores but they do not have the M38 style raised hex bolts. I also need slotted machine head screws.

Any suggestions on where I can find?

Best regards,

Hemings

Tried Midwest Military or Army Jeep Parts, RJP?

I know Lowes has fender type bolts with recessed heads
that come in black. Need to check the threads and maybe
cut to length. In the Miscellaneous drawers.

Ace Hardware has some screws as well as the internal and
external lock washers. Fastenal also has various bolts and
screws. May have to order but they come in fast.

Don't leave out EBay. There are several screws and bolt
lots for sale right now.

Thank you - will try eBay and the rest now.

Going to Tractor Supply Co later this afternoon as they have a few. I looked into the miscellaneous drawer in Lowes and indeed they have a few - wanted to avoid the hassle of cutting it.

Thanks a lot for your suggestion.

Try McMaster Carr. Their website is pretty extensive. Only issue is they sometimes only sell in large quantities. Worth a look though.

Fastenal has quite a bit of stuff in stock, but it's easy and fast
to order what you need if they carry it. And, if you are able
to buy in quantity you can save money.

X2 with McMasterCarr. They have a great website. As long
as you have good descriptions of what you want they are
easy to find in the on line catalogs. Unbelievable fast shipping.

Sadly, some things are getting harder to find like the slotted
screws. Phillips seem to be everywhere. Things like the cowl
battery box hinge screws are just not made anymore.

I've evolved from going through old bolts, nuts, screws, etc.
and saving the ones that I needed to not throwing any of them
away.

Thank you. I got quite a few from Tractor Supply. You are right, not many have the slotted round head screws. Need to find them using your suggestions. Thanks a lot. It's easy to get EC and F marked ones but the M38 complete bolt set is hard to find. I remember picking up an EC set for my late Mb quite easily. Wonder why nobody has even tried to reproduce the M38 type bolts.

You might post a list of what you are looking for.

Maybe some folks have spares or can help you look.
