Howdy all,

I'm bringing the electrical system on my '54 M38A1 back to original specs, and the wire on my original headlight dimmer switch is frayed all the way down to the housing. Has anyone had any experience taking this little item apart? If so, advice is most welcome!

Thanks so much!

Bill S.

A trick i did with my distributor wire is if the actual metal wiring is not bad, then get plasti dip in dipping can and paint it on. Do this a few times and in no time, will have a re coated and water proof wire.

Bill, did you use the "Search" function at the top of the page? it would have given you this list of related old posts: http://www.willysmjeeps.com/v2/modules.php?name=Forums&file=search&mode=results

It also depends on the state of the housing material. I tried taking
a Douglas connector dimmer apart a year or so ago. The lip did not bend
but snapped off in pieces.
