I have a canvas summer top for an M38A1 that has gotten a little ratty looking lately.

What do you guys recommend for cleaning it?

I've got an old Beachwood Canvas catalog and, they say to " Clean soiled canvas with water and a soft brush. If extremely soiled use a small amount of dish soap and treat with preservative when completly dry."
They go on to say not to steam clean or use harsh detergents.
If this is an old top be careful as the material can rip easily.

Remember, the canvas will shrink when it is wet, so if it was removed to be cleaned, put it back on the jeep while wet.
