was both sizes used originally on m-38s?

Yes early M38 with the 2131-x front axles used the small diameter tie rod assemblies and those later ones with the 2166-x front axle assemblies used the larger diameter rods. I don't have a serial cutoff but probably around winter 51/52 thru spring 52. _________________ Wes K
