Can anyone help tell or show me the correct marking for the front bumper and rear bumperetes for a M-38 or M38-a1 seabee jeep from MCB-10 delta co. We had a M38-a1 in danang in 66-67 but I don't remember how it was marked. Thanks.

Your best bet is to go to that units historical web site and review their photos of vehicles in use during the period you are interested in representing.

By just googling "seabee jeep MCB-10 delta Co. you get dozens of sites to choose from. Some have photos some have forums where you can ask someone for photos of Seabee jeeps from that period.

Thanks Wesk, I've tried most all the websites but I still can't find what I'm looking for. I have some seabee friends on facebook that I can ask.

Should be a simple red diamond with a white 10 in the center. Like this one.

Thanks Beast It seems to me there should be something besides just the diamond, but at least it's a start. I'll keep looking.

Navy and Marine markings were very few and sparce. The majority of Sea Bee vehicles I see on the various web sites have the standard USN and registration number and the yellow SeaBee emblem on the doors and that's about it.

There were a couple dozen photos in this MCB-62 tour book (180 pages) of vehicles and most had no bumper markings at all. Just the USN & registration number and some had the SeaBee emblem on each side. Many of the larger trucks were Army issue with Army markings.

Thanks Wesk. I now agree that they do not have many markings on them. Although I did three tours I didn't pay much attention to how the vehicles were marked. Working at least 6 1/2 day's a week and watching my back I wasn't concerned about how the vehicles were marked.

We all worked hard over there and I seldom paid any attention to vehicle markings. But I fortunately carried my 35MM camera everywhere with me. But even armed with the camera most of time the photos were about the people more than the machines.

I fully agree. There were a lot of people that had it a lot worse off than I did. I also still have my Yashico electro - 35 mm camera, takes very good pictures.

The day I bought my camera in Thailand (Christmas 1968 at the U'Tapao RTNAF BX) the Yashika 35 was sold out so I bought a Petrie 7S. Still have it and it still works.
