|
|
Found a Simpson 4910 788 8549 24V Dwell/Tach meter at the MV swap meet this weekend and it followed me home.
Alas it is missing the operators manual that would have been supplied with the tool.
Would anyone be interested in scanning their manual for our downloads?
Or better yet does anyone have a spare orig manual they would part with? _________________ keep 'em rollin'

Hey Rick, How about we split the work! I get you scanned copies. and you take the time to upload them in the manual downloads section for everyone to share.
44 pages at 300 dpi, pm me your method of file transfer. _________________ Always Looking for M170 Parts and bits |

Thanks for pitching in Mod. You have a copy of TM9-4910-788-14&P ??
That would be a great resource in our downloads section.
I'm hoping also to find a copy of the pamphlet that would have been supplied from Simpson with the tool that would fit in the slot in the cover. _________________ keep 'em rollin'

Rick, I'm not familiar with that designation. Electrical tester?
I found this as a search result:

I recently picked up a working 1980's vintage USGI Tach-Dwell Test Set on fleabay for a good price. Made by Bruno -- but it has the same NSN 4910-00-788-8549. I'd appreciate a copy of the manual in the downloads section too. Thanks! _________________ Ron D.

Take note that the Army published different TM's for many test units that differed significantly from others yet shared the same FSN or NSN. Sometimes you will find a TM that will list on the cover that it applies to several manufacturer's units and sometimes it applies to only one manufacturer's unit. In the case of the TM 9-4910-700-14&P it only applies to the AUL units.
Quote: | TEST SET, TACHOMETER, DWELL
(AUL INSTRUMENTS, INC.)
(NSN 4910-00-788-8549) |
and in the case of the TM 9-4910-500-12 it only applies to the Simpson units.
Quote: | TEST SET, TACHOMETER AND DWELL
(SIMPSON ELECTRIC COMPANY MODEL TDS-2)

Gentlemen, thank you! I missed the link in the earlier post. I'll look at the AUL manual carefully, but offhand, the line drawing and characteristics in the TM appear to be identical to the Bruno unit I have, down to the overall dimensions, switch locations and the labels, meter locations and scales, and the test leads. They even appear to operate identically. I'll look it all over again carefully. Thanks again! _________________ Ron D.
