I looked for one for years but couldn't find one that fit (except on E-Greed). I finally found a large flea market about 30 miles away that has a lot of vendors to go up north and buy items at farm auctions, etc during the summer and then bring them to Florida to sell during the winter. I've found four or five old US made, Jeep sized shovels there. Most shovels made in the last 30 years or so are about 40 inches long and are too long to fit the jeep. You need one about 36 inches long. I figured out where 36 inches came to on me when measured from the floor and now I can hold a shovel up next to me and tell if it will fit or not without having to carry around a tape measure. |

Don't forget the angle of the head to. Too shallow and won't wrap around the body properly. _________________ Brett

ACTUALLY what I did originally was to buy a later model shovel that was too long and grind the heads off of the rivets that held the blade on and removed them and the blade. I then shortened the handle and used a spoke shave (genuine antique from E-bay) to remove some wood so that the handle would fit into the blade again. I then redrilled the holes through the handle and pressed the rivets back in. It wasn't perfect but it worked. |
