I'm replacing my old tub with an MDJ tub.
On the original tub, there's a bracket/support on the body where the right, back of the passenger side seat seat frame mates with it and the seat is held in place by the pressure from the metal "spring". The replacement tub doesn't have anything at all like that and I'm wondering if:

I need to cut the old one out and use it on the new tub or
    Not worry about it or
    fabricate a new one or
    Question

I've been thru every manual I have and can't find any sort of reference to it or a picture.
The original assembly was welded in place so, if it's correct, then I assume it's not expected to be a replaceable item.
(The tub is standing on the right side in these pix)

Take the appropriate measurements and then cut the old one out and put it in the new one... I have a tub from another jeep and bubba cut that bracket out... I just move it to the newer tub and all is well...

That bracket is peculiar to the very late M38A1's. About 1960 & on.

The other passenger seat thing you find was a GI field mod. They welded in a sliding door locking bolt that protruded over the back drivers side foot. Keeps the seat from flopping forward when Jumping I guess. Laughing

Thanks Wes (et al),
Now that I know what to call it (seat latch) I was able to locate earlier threads - with pictures. Since I have someone ready to pick up my old tub and use it I'll leave it in place and go with the sliding bolt approach if I can't find a replacement.
