I have an L-134 engine that I am repairing. Right above the water pump housing it has the numbers 3J54609. I was told that when the engine blocks have numbers there is because they were made for military jeeps. Is this acurate? _________________ RJ Ruiz

Military blocks for the M38 are marked with an MC or RMC prefix (for M38A1 an MD or RMD prefix). _________________ 1951 M38

3J serials were installed in the CJ3A and the DJ3A. Had it been a UXXXXX it would have been a station wagon and a TXXXXX would have came in a Pickup. _________________ Wes K
