So I finally received a quote for this item 7375177 from Bluefin International,
one of the suppliers that comes up when you enter the part or NSN number in to a search on the Internet.

They are happy to quote me $22.12 each with a minimum order of 100 units

I believe that I will take another route.

On a related subject, I guess a $22.12 tension spring for a 1950 jeep shows the level of markup and overhead necessary to keep our military and suppliers running, and why our taxes are so high.

Regards

You might want to check Grainger Industrial supply, they offer a varied assortment of spring washers, less that $18 for quantity 10. I would think any industrial supply outfit would stock them, possibly in lower quantities.

Hey, with the extras, you could start your OWN parts supply business Smile

This guy is a wound spring, in a complete circle, that goes on the top seal on the bellcrank shaft.

I didn't see anything in Grainger or McMaster Carr, but I bet MMC has something. Just finding it in their inventory.....

Search for "Garter Springs" or "Garter Extension Springs"

Maybe this would work: http://www.amazon.com/Interlock-Garter-Diameter-Assembled-Extended/dp/B0085YYXEW/ref=sr_1_25?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1409756750&sr=1-25&keywords=garter

Make your own spring:
Take an old hub seal whose spring has a diameter of the coil of about 3/32 inch and a wire diameter of about 1/64 inch.
(See Photo Gallery, my album sinrisnekaf with photo "spring dimensions").

The ends of the spring are screwed together, screw it apart.
Cut the spring to a Free length of 4 inch and after that screw the ends back together.

Now you have the correct spring for the Seal, bellcrank to bracket WO-801566 for Minimal Costs!!!!! Very Happy
Chris

That's a great idea, Chris.

Way to think out of the box.
