Picked up a large unopened wooden box with the following info on the box. Personal Heater 2540-0397784. I don't want to open it unless its something I can use . Anybody know what vehicles it was made for.

What is the 6 or 7 digit ORD # on the crate that starts with a 7 or 8?

Let's save Henry the hunt:

[img]The M38 and the M38A1 each used a different kit. Exactly which kits do you have for sale?

The M38A1 uses ORD# 7358725 FSN 2540-039-7784

The M38 uses ORD# 7387261 FSN 2540-570-1365[/img]

Henry, I would still like to know what ORD # is on your crate. The FSN or NSN numbers often represented more than one ORD #.

Thanks for the info...It looks like the heater is for a M38a1, so I will be keeping it . I will look up the numbers you asked about this afternoon.

I will look again for that number...I found the manual and it is a gas heater. It states that it is converted from a six volt to 24 for the m38a1.
