Hello,
im trying to find the correct timing notch on my pulley.double military.Very close at where the original supposed to be there are 2-3 more hits and notches.I found that from the inside of the pulley at the shoulder there is a small hole close to the center.is that in line with the factory notch???to identify it and paint it?
p.s timing the f-head at 5 or give 1-2 degrees more?some say that is good with the new high octane fuels.
There is only one correct way to find the correct alignment of timing marks when they are in doubt. Get #1 TDC DEAD NUTS ON!!!!!! Then make your TDC mark and then use a degree wheel to back up 5 or 7. If you want to try 7 then make a mark for both 5 & 7.
Any other way of jury rigging and you'll be off 5 or more degrees. The only tools you need are a dial indicator or TDC finder and a degree wheel. Google up a few "How to find TDC" U Tube movies and you're educated and ready to work. _________________ Wes K
