Picked this up the other day. Posted a question on the 503 and now I’m just wondering, is the mt 299 mount hard to come by or not. I gave $400.00 for all of it and can’t realy tell you if it works. I googled the mount and didn’t come up with any for sale. Im sure the real military radio guys will know but it’s just kind of going to hang in the mancave while I decide what to do with it. Any remarks are appreciated. Thanks John jr. Couldn’t get the picture size down to post pics.

The MT-299 is very rare and worth much more than the $400 you paid for it due to demand. The RT-68 and PS-112 are not hard to come by. the PRC-10 is also available. I have all of those and have them mounted on my M-38CDN (I know the radio set is wrong for the CDN), but I was able to get it back in the day for a reasonable price.

Hope that helps...

I paid $200 for one that needed restoring 5-6yrs ago. I bought an RT67,RT68, 2 - PP112 power supplies, 1 - 12v PS (can't remember the designation) and antenna mounts, bases, sections and other goodies for $175 about 7yrs ago. Everything lights up, but doesn't transmit or receive. I'm ignorant when it comes to tube technology and there is nobody around my area that still works on the stuff, so I guess it will stay inop.

Is this the same VRC-22 system you mentioned 2 years ago?

If you are operating a PC with standard Windows then you can just use the built in "Paint" program to reduce the file size of your photos.

I noticed your mule photo posting on steel soldiers worked just fine and all their file sizes were under 100K.

Wes, it’s not the same set up. I don’t even remember posting that one. Lol I’m using my iPad Pro and I’m not saying it’s anything but me as a user problem. Tried the instructions but didn’t seem to work. I thought the outfit I just picked up was referred to as a vrc10. Thanks John jr

Unless you load a photo working program on your Ipad you won't be able to adjust or change your photo's file size.

This is the VRC-10 setup:

Wes, yes I think that is the set up that I would use. Not sure I’m going to put it on but thanks for the info. Saw it on your photo album also I think. Will work on the the photo issue. Thanks again. John jr

These mounts are not rare they are seldom seen because they are extremely expensive to ship.I recently paid $75 for an MT-299.Most of the RT-66,67,and 68 radios out there don't work and require repairs to get them functional.

The MT-299 are not rare. They come up for sale every now and then. They are desirable but are expensive to ship so that hurts the price. The radios are very common and don't command much $50-$100 each. I have seen the mounts go between $75-$300 around me.

I would be interested in the MT-299 depending on condition if your interested in selling.

Best Regards ~ Matt
