Hi can you tell me how much sideways movement you should have on this part.
I have fitted new ball ends and the kit which contains springs and felt pads and the little metal discs which go inside the tube.
There is about 1/2 inch sideways movement when you grab the tube. Sounds about right?

Thanks for that. I did not know there are different size tubes. Will check it all out again. _________________ 1952 M38 |

Hi. Found the problem. All the parts fitted correctly but the cross tube had worn oval so had a lot of movement on the ball ends.. New cross tube and all is well.
