|
|
I have received and installed my correct Convoy Light for my M-38CDN... I now have a question on its operation...
When should the lamp be on? It only comes on when the Convoy switch is turned to the on position as it should, but the main light switch needs to be in the Service Drive position (top switch, turned to the second position to the right), with the headlights on and such. Is this correct or should it be on when the blackout lamps are on...
I cannot find any information in the CDN OM9-804 manual on the convoy lamp...
Any help would be appreciated... |

My convoy light gets its power from the ACC lead on the ignition switch. I have a 4 wire sw. In this fasion it can be used in conjunction with the other light configurations or on its own. I can not verify for sure if that is as per the CDN mod diagrams but that is the way mine was when I stripped out the old harness. There also should be a splitter to allow the convoy light harness to connect to the trailer receptacle to power the convoy light on the trailer. _________________ SteveJ

All the trucks that I remember with the convoy lights had the wire to the switch hot all the time. The convoy light was used during blackout operations. |

Thanks for the information on the light switch...
I have no idea what was on the differential before I got it... it has been painted several times... I just painted a 2" wide stipe down the cover like the letter I for right now...
Axles may be redone this winter... |
