When I got my M38, the lighting system had been coverted to have turn signals. It looked like it might have been done by the military. They used a military turn signal like the ones on the M151's on the steering column, the flasher under the hood was military and wiring had the waterproof connectors.
The small lights in the front grille had the bulbs changed to be able to blink or be on all the time with the head lights, They also lit up with you operated in blackout mode. The problem lies in how they converted these small lights to work this away. Where the wires enter through the back, a plug has been pressed in the light and the bulb has been changed to a bulb with a blinking element. In doing so it has lengthend the lights by about 1/2 to 3/4 inches and the one on the battery side will not work because it hits the battery box I have installed.
Has anyone ever seen this done before?
Has anyone one a solution other than cutting a hole in the battery box?
Any other ideas?
