Stupid question to some but I didn't take pictures of this during disassembly. Also, the maintenence manual shows pictures both ways as you flip through so.....

Do you route the main wire harness to the rear on the bottom of the frame or the underside of the frame top concerning a M170?

The main harness goes inside the left frame rail, clipped to the top edge of the rail with rather long clips that move the harness close to the vertical web of the "C" channel. It runs like this from the driver's toe board to the "V: frame's left section where it joins the left main frame rail just ahead of the muffler. There it drops down under the "V" brace leg and back up and inside the main left frame rail again but clipping this time to the lower lip of the "C" channel then as it hits the rear cross member it goes up and over the frame "C" channel outboard to the tail light and trailer plug.

I couldn't locate some great photos I took last year of a restored 170 frame but this information is clearly portrayed in the Changes 1, 2, & 3 to TM 9-8015-2, Figures 26.9 and 40.1.
