I'm wondering if something is missing on my Jeep. The seat can be removed by just slightly tilting it forward and lifting it out. Is that the way it is supposed to be? Thanks
The pivot brackets have three holes drilled in them. The lower front hole is for the metal loop that connects to the chain with a pin on the end of the chain. Then there is a top front hole that aligns with a lower rear hole for the safety pin which retains the seat leg pivot pin in the slot. The parts are all listed in the ORD 9 on pages 330 & 334.
The military had an MWO to add a old fashion type door slide bolt welded to the floor at the left rear leg of the seat to keep it fastened to the floor while driving.
MWO ORD G1-W50 Add's lock bolt to floor at left rear leg.
Tommy,
If you adjust the flat ''spring'' at the lower right rear of the seat base than it will hold the seat down in its place. I did not have a problem of seat movement at hard deceleration. Or you can put a 250# girlfriend on the seat, that should stabilize it. Will try to post pictures of the missing chain tonight, if I can not post it, I will email it to Wes or to you.
The locking snap bracket on the right sidewall was on M38A1's after serial number MD61809. _________________ Wes K

Thanks. I didn't see the holes in my brackets for the pins, but they may be there and full of dirt or paint.I'm pretty sure the spring thing is missing.
