Was it common practice to remove the axe head sheath and braze up all the holes when intalling an artic top to the M38.
It would seem that someone was a bit over zealous when installing the artic top on my M38.
Most if not all the holes for the top bow mounting along with the footman loops were brazed over. The axe head sheath was removed from the side of the jeep and the holes for the bracket that holds the blade of the shovel were brazed over also.

This seems a bit extreme, I guess it was rather cold where my jeep was stationed!

Has anyone else encountered this type of modification to there jeep?

Pat

Seems like a lot of work to accomplish little. I have never seen this done to another Jeep. One of the P.O.s must have just wanted to do it.
