Where can I find the correct Canvas Turn Buckle Fasteners for the M38a1 door flap. They appear to be screw on base but I am not sure. Would appreciate part number and correct name as well.
Thanks

I do not stock most of my parts by number. Turnbuckles are no different. These are the machine screw type for the door canvas.

This is a case where they are not listed in the ORD 9 but several other versions are and the detailed restorers would like to know for certain what configuration of that fastener is correct for the doors on the A1. Do you stock more than one size or configuration of the fastener? If so can you be more specific on their size, shape and attachment methods? If not stocked by part number like other items you stock then can you indicate which position they are correct for on the A1? _________________ Wes K

Jose,
You may have better results searching the internet for "Common Sense" fasteners. (Or twist lock fasteners.) Google will produce a lot of hits. Many canvas and boat supply places stock them at quite reasonable prices.
The difficult part is to find unplated fasteners or decide how to blacken them.
Turn buckles per se are usually devices with two male threaded hook or eye bolts that screw into a an extended double female "buckle." They are usually used to tighten cables, tension fences, doors or powerlines.
Best of luck with your search Don |
