what is the correct color of the hood rest welt, on a m38a1. i order some welting for the rest's and they sent the color black. is this color correct?

Mine was a dark green - bought it from Beachwood years ago. Not saying mine is correct, but thats what I have and it looks correct.

If you look at some of the period photos for both the M38 and the M38A1 I would say green.

Also review your TM 9-8014 fig's 54, 102, 104, 179, & 182 all show the liner very close in color to the paint.
