Between the military T90 transmission and T18 transfer case and the civilian version? _________________ 1952 M38A1

The civilian transfer case didn't have the vent line; there was a breather fitted on top (similar to the WW2 jeeps), but this can easily be removed. Also, there was no bolt-in pin through where the transfer case levers pivot; there was a knock-in pin (again, like the WW2 jeep).
The civilian T90 box is very similar to the M38; the noticeable difference being the shift tower & lever (as Bill_F said). You can see the civvy shift tower on mine here:
I replaced mine with the military shift tower, but the military boot will fit over the civvy shift tower if you don't want to go to the added expense.
