Yes, a shame. At least the oil leaks are original. Mr. Green

Careful Rick, It's a Buick V6 with single left side exhaust.

Judging by the hood it went from the Marines to the Army (U.S.A. 2B2436) and then BLM (US Government Official Use Only)

My bad.. all kidding aside, with exception of the powerplant and
possible drivetrain mods it looks pretty darn straight compared to
some of the MV's we see offered for sale..

I thought I would do a follow up to this Jeep. I bought it back in December of 2011 for $3500 and it cost $900 to have it brought from Bozeman, MT to Columbus, MS. While not pristine, it is a good sound Jeep to restore to driver status. The V6 runs perfectly and it drives great, however as it is, its not my cup of tea. I picked up a NOS engine a few months back along with a NOS transmission. I've picked up new panels to replace inner liners of the fenders cut for exhaust clearance. I've also gotten new floor panels to repair the floors reshaped to clear the V6. The hood had many holes in it from having wood strips mounted on it. I think the forest service did this on a lot of them for carrying purposes. I picked up a great hood for under a $100. I've also replaced the windshield. As you probably have figured out I have quite a few bucks in it up to this point, but for what it is, I think its well worth it.

Be sure to get any hood# and data plate numbers to Wes for the database.

Rick, I see you have a M38. I have MC 30253 DOD 8/51. I actually picked it up for parts but after getting it home, although far from perfect, its really a tad to good to be parted out. The engine was frozen and when I removed the head, I found the number 3 hole had a busted piston. Haven't decided exactly where I'm going from here. I've only got about $500 in it. The great thing about it, it has a clear title and a full set of dash brass.

Ron, i encourage you to keep MC30253 DOD 8-51 in 1 piece if possible.
There are too FEW of these trucks in existence to let them disappear.
The fact that you have a valid title and data plates makes it worth keeping intact IMO (unless its a total wreck and rust bucket).
