Wes suggested I float this topic in the tech pages.

From what I can gather the Defense Authorization and
Marketing Office was (and may still be) responsible for
auctioning surplus equipment including jeeps. Apparently
they published catalogs with many of these items in them.

In my endless quest for info on jeeps I tripped over an older
thread over on the G503 website where one on the members
mentioned having old moldy copies of 1960's DRMO catalogs
with listings of jeeps for sale which included not only the
serial numbers but registration (hood) numbers as well.

One could make the assumption that there is a potential
database out there for serial and registration numbers
matched to specific vehicles.

So, here is your assignment Mr. Phelps if you choose to
accept it. Scour all possible locations, hard copy as well
as electronic, auction sites, libraries, antique and resale
shops in an attempt to find one or more of these 1960's
vintage catalogs. Post any info or news here.

Good hunting!
