I have two 12v 300amp cranking batteries for my (24v) M38 52' . Can i buy another battery this size with more cranking amps? thanks _________________ 1952 M38
That answer is found by shopping the vendors/manufacturers. You need to have the battery group number and then you go to each manufacturer's web site and look for what amp ratings are available from them for that group number. Or canvas the distributors like Batteries Plus with that question.
I have been restoring and running these 24 volt jeeps with two 200 to 300 CCA batteries in series for more than 26 years. Unless you are wanting to run an electric winch or have serious malfunctions with starters or grounds they are all you will ever need. _________________ Wes K

yep - check your starter switch on top of the starter for carbon or burnt insulators if your battery is draining - common problem on m-series. _________________ Matt

If with all switches off when you disconnect the battery ground cable and connect a 24 volt test lamp to the end of the cable and the negative battery terminal and the light glows, then you have a current leak or draw that's not suppose to be there.
Troubleshooting the source of the leak is simple and a common procedure to all old cars. You leave the test lamp connected and glowing then you disconnect one circuit at a time until the lamp goes out. That would then be the offending circuit. With the water proof military wiring you must take your time and study the wiring diagrams to decide on the proper location to make the circuit disconnects. _________________ Wes K
