Need more info. I don't have a parts manual easily accessible right now, so here is a picture from Wes's album (this is an M38 frame, but basically the same - has the same parts)
Are you talking about the rear crossmember (rear bumper), or the v shaped braces? I know you can buy the crossmember, but don't think I've seen the support. _________________ Matt

Matt, I would guess he wants one of these parts:
Longest member is rear crossmember, WO# 800605 (both), next longest is reinforcement WO# 801695 (Both) and next longest Plate, reinforcement, rear WO# 800815 (M38) (805515 (M38A1).
The "V" shaped structure is Frame reinforcement rear WO# 800814 (M38) and 805518 (M38A1). I suspect the difference lies in the intermediate crossmember and/or tub attachment. _________________ Wes K

That's what I was thinking Wes. But since you found the part #s, it looks like he is looking for the Frame reinforcement rear WO# 805518 (M38A1) per the thread title.
Yeah, I don't think I've seen them for sale (or maybe I just haven't been looking for one).
JR, you are probably going to have to get one cut off of a scrap frame. I have a frame that I am getting ready to scrap that I could cut the part off of, but I wouldn't know how to ship it. _________________ Matt

Daryl Bensinger carries these for the GPW and MB. Probably the same part number for the M38 and M38A1.
Or try Midwest Military. Johns parts in my opinion are as good as OEM.
It is a common part and even Jeep Draw probably has the drawings to have a local metal fabricator make them on a press brake. |

Jeff, I got your pics - only looks like the driver side is bent a little. Is this correct? Do you have a closeup of the rear section?
Here are the 2 pics Jeff sent me:

Got ya - I sent you a couple of pics of the part I have. Mine is in a little better condition - I won't charge you any extra for the bubba bracket that's welded on it! _________________ Matt

Sorry Wilfreeman - I'm an uber beginner and that one is a little rough for me. I can use the one for an M38 that a few folks sell with some minor modification - just was hoping to find one specific to the m38a1 - surprising that nobody make a replica considering I have seen a few folks looking for them. - thanks anyway - the search contiues |
