Found the problem....the gear on the bendix drive shattered, and the flywheel teeth are pretty chewed up. Got a new project!
I looked online at Midwest and Kaiser Willys for new ring gear and bendix ...

If you can,t get your hands on gl-1 go to an ag equip dealer shop and ask for their old style corn oil tranny and gear box lube. I really never cared for gl anything in manual trannies. It,s overkill ...
