Thnks for the picks. Data plate does show that it is in fact a M-38/A-1, "Tailgate" was insalled with 4 bolts, did not actually move. I can seefrom the photos that the previous owner rotated the spare ... |

IAm presently restoring a 1953 M-38/A-1. The spare tire is mounter on the rear, centered on the tailgate. This will not leave clearence for the 5 gal jerry can I plan to attach. Any advice ???? |

I presently drive a 2005 Liberty as my everyday vaehicle. When I got my 1953 M38/A-1 I decided to name it " Justice". A little corny but patriotic. |
