Update, finally got around to fixing my timing problem. The timing mark was 2" away from TDC, now it's 1/2". Close as I could get it. Starts and runs a lot better. Thanks for all your input!

Can someone tell me if it's possible to remove the oil pump with the engine in? Or does the engine need to be removed? What is the procedure?

Correction, one side the key was on the shaft when the hub was installed, the other side, after the hub was installed.
