Update, finally got around to fixing my timing problem. The timing mark was 2" away from TDC, now it's 1/2". Close as I could get it. Starts and runs a lot better. Thanks for all your input! |

Can someone tell me if it's possible to remove the oil pump with the engine in? Or does the engine need to be removed? What is the procedure?

Thanks. My Dad did the re-assembly, I helped him but, I spent more time arguing with my dad to go by the book so I wasn't paying attention. Your help is greatly appreciated. |

Correction, one side the key was on the shaft when the hub was installed, the other side, after the hub was installed. |

OK, I got the bearings shimmed to .006 endplay. When I installed the hub, the 1" castle nut would only screw on far enough to get the cotter pin through the shaft. No room for the big washer on driver ... |
