Yes, it is the same, also 24 volt. The distributor is nearly the same, i also use the ignition module in my M38.

Nice, but remove that plastic fuelfilter in the pressure side before the carburator, put it before the fuelpump for safety. |

I set the timing with max vacuum on idle, bit more than 5 degrees i think.

And it works still fine after many years. I have a sparemodule in the toolbox but i never needed it !

I had the same problems in the past, the ignition timing became to late at some moments and the engine became very hot. hard to find good condensors these da ... |

Indeed i used an mb fender, at the moment we did the restoration.
(m38 fenders ore cj3a fenders are not easy to become here in Belgium)
The mb fender was from a Hotchkiss French mb clone.

I did the same some years ago.
I placed a diode to bridge the relais wich connect the generator with the battery.
So i couild rescue the original regulator.
