The manual says the mod I'd for the m38
Is the m38 fuel pump the same as th A1?

Its an m38a1
It does have fording valves, which are set to open but i will double check that it isnt stuck

Had a few fuel problems recently

Ok so took the fuel pump off and partially stripped it
There seems to be a significant amount of oil within it - is this normal?

Ok solved it

Looks like I had over torqued massively !

Took it all apart and replaced it but used correct torque setting and thread lock

Solved the noise and clutch now works great

Have taken engine out and disc was in the correct way


Torque settings was for the pressure plate

The noise seemed to be coming from the disc itself

Sounds like it's vibrating / rattling ...

Ok - you were so right
Tried taking air hose off and squirting fuel straight into the carb
Hey presto she started!!!!
Once warm she ran ok

So as you suggested it now appears to be a fuel issue ...

ive taken the floor plates out & taken off the inspection plate to the bell housing
The noise is definitely coming from the disc

it looks like its either vibrating or is off centre

if it needs it - how do i get the throw out bearing off?? as im sure mine seemed stuck fast? - does it need a puller? or heat etc...

If by thing you mean the throw out bearing then the answer is no as I left the original in place

But I do remember it wouldn't come off

How did you actually get the bearing off?
