It should be sitting at the bottom of the oil pan if it fell into dipstick hole.
If it is heavy enough, it should just sit on the bottom of the pan but I wouldnt take that chance. I think pan remova ... |

Could you possibly have a YS950 carb instead of a YS637S?
The YS637S is correct for the M38, unsure if the 950 would work or not.
