I finally found a donor candidate for my 1952 M38 CDN restoration. It comes from a stationary gen set with what appears to be magneto distributor set up.

I can hand turm the flywheel almost 1 complete revolution approx 340 degrees and then it seems to hang up and cannot rotate any further.
It's not a compression from a cylinder it more than that.

What are the possibilities????

I thought maybe a stuck valve.

Thanks

Peter (Ottawa)

Most likely a stuck valve. You'll have to pull the side cover and check.

It turned out to be a loose bolt on the flywheel to crank, that was rubbing. Tightened it up ,now it's rotation freely.

Thanks
