Well, I hate it when this happens........can someone please tell me where in the Ord 9 manual I can find the spec's for the bolts that attach the clutch to the flywheel? I know I've seen it.......I even wrote it down someplace so I could get six new bolts......now I'll be darned if I can find it again. Thanks.

Exactly what I was looking for......and looking and looking.....so thanks. Just another one of those days when I couldn't find it even using both hands. And yes......for the M38A-1. So, does anyone know of a place to get 5/16" x 1 1/16" bolts...or will 1" bolts work? Thanks again.

I had a hard time finding the correct bolts but I wanted to share this for other peoples future needs who might stumble across this topic. ~ Matt

I am down in Argentina, so mail order is not really an option. Fortunately there is La Ferreteria (the hardware store) that carry a good selection of SAE threaded bolts.

My question is what grade are these? I imagine they are at least Grade 5, but would Grade 8 provide more shear strength, or be too brittle?

Gracias!

Its hard to see in my picture but these special bolts have a "shoulder" and are there to ensure the pressure plate is centered. If you take a look at your flywheel holes you will see that the threads do not come all the way to the top for that reason.

People have and continue to use regular bolts which work.... but theirs always a chance you might get a vibration.

5/16NC X 1-1/16, I have heard 1 inch long work. You will need 5/16 lock washers also.

To answer your question I believe they are grade 5. I'm sure someone here can confirm that.

I just want to make it clear that I am not criticizing anyone's choice on hardware. I always say it's your jeep so you need to decide what you think is best.

Hope this helps!

Have a great day

~ Matt
