SOLD

After a few phone calls/emails I thought I'd add some info about the M38 I have for sale to insure there is no confusion about what it is. I don't want to mislead those who are looking for an all original M38 which this is not.

This 1951 Willis Jeep is a faux replica of the classic M38 military Jeep used during the Korean War era. It is a military vehicle with useful civilian modifications. The end result is a nice blend of the civilian CJ3A and the military M38 which I put together to make driving it fun and hassle-free. CJ3A components were chosen to replace hard to find/expensive military M38 ones where it was most practical and to make the Jeep more easily repairable if it was ever necessary.

Worries were eliminated about the need for double batteries, a 24 volt wiring harness, 24 volt electrical components like gauges and lights, or the requirement for sealed components unique to the M38 like the distributor, voltage regulator, and generator or the special fuel pump and carburetor.

But this vehicle has the original M38 body, fenders, hood, seats and wheels along with the Dana T-90 transmission and transfer case, and steering components as used in the military vehicle.

It’s a good parade Jeep, around-town errand runner, or country play toy. It is not a commuter vehicle or highway cruiser. While top speed is 50 mph plus, it’s most practical speed is 45 mph or less.

It’s a grand little Jeep at a great price for a virtually new vehicle.
