This weekend on the way to an event I forgot my windshield was folded down and not secured down. Long story short it flipped up and shattered the driver side of the split windshield. My question is what type of glass do I need? Can it be cut at a local auto glass shop?
Most quality glass shops will cut and install while you wait for the simple flat glass you need. The correct glass is laminated 1/4" safety plate. _________________ Wes K

if your windshield is indeed 1/4" laminated glass as it should be
you would be able to remove the broken side to use for the
template. (leave the good side alone-you know, murphys law)
because of the laminate the broken side will retain its shape.
around here clear 1/4" lami is running around $9.50 sq ft retail
and your glass shop will add a pattern charge for cutting
out of square-radius corners maybe about $25-30.
glass prices have increased dramatically in the past few
years because it is a fired mfg process using much fuel..
(been in the glass business +30 yrs)
oh, and a big THANKS for the photos of the MEDAL OF HONOR
