I finally got out the stubborn stuck piston today.

I had an idea, it moved so far and then stuck again. No force could move it.
We packed the piston with dry ice and wrapped with rags to keep it in and turned the block sideways on the engine stand. With the plywood discs in to protect the piston, I knocked it with the hammer and 2/8 inch socket with 3/4 inch extension and beat it out with my son pulling on the rod. Freezing the piston must have helped, he lost hold of it and it flew 3 feet and hit the floor.

You could hear the high pitched squeal as the piston contracted.
Might not always work, but it seemed to this time.

Got 4 of these engines, three of which need a rebuild. Will start taking measurements this week to see which is best.

Hope this helps

Dave
