Sorry guys, I have been away working on other projects for a while.
No problem, I just re-read Bill's post and made a statement, no harm, no foul.
Joe’s lock that I installed was a correct as possible; I could not tell the difference from the original, short of dirt and old paint on the original. I would say that he nailed it on the head for accuracy.

The hanger bearing I cannot comment on accurateness as I did not have an original to compare to. However Joe's bolted in place without any adjustments. This includes connecting the correct u-joints and shafts to the hanger bearing and installing the hanger bearing to the bell housing. If I had to grade
the hanger bearing I would give it a big old “10” as it went into place without any fiddling. Now compare that to any of the other parts on a 60+ year old vehicle and I can tell you that it is nice to have at least one part of a restoration go that smooth.

Hope this helps a bit.

Ps. I can see wanting "original" as opposed to repo for some people.
Me, I just want to finish a jeep of my own before my time is up!

Cheers
Pat

It is good to hear that Joe's repop is so nice. I will probably end up getting one from him in the spring. No need to put parts in the jeep right now as winter is coming fast.

To reproduce the lockplate would have been extremely pricey. I believe that there is another individual making lockplate reproductions. Perhaps someone could chime in with their name.
Cheers
