1962 Willys 4x4 M170 (USMC) FRONTLINE AMBULANCE
Body: excellent condition. New windshield, grill and other parts installed at the Marine Corps facility in Albany, GA in the mid-60’s. Body partially prepped for repainting over AF blue. (4 gallons correct USMC paint included with purchase). Litter rack, 3 period stretchers, 2 tops (1 original to M-170, 1 NOS w/side curtains), all seats ( 2 original, one takeout), shovel, and two door frames w/o canvas.
Electrical: converted to 12 volts; all 24 volt parts included for restoration to original configuration.
Mechanical: brakes, seals, and other parts gone through by professional Jeep mechanics. Engine rebuilt to specs in ’09. Runs and drives as original. Selectro hubs.
Tires: 5 NDT’s with tubes.
Data plates: original.
This M-170 is a great candidate for restoration because almost all the parts are on it, they’re in good to excellent condition, and the vehicle drives out nicely. Obvious missing items are the cord reel light, siren, and side pads. Gas tank is good, no leaks. Inoperative hand brake cable needs replacing.
If you’re a Marine, you and your local Marine Corps League unit can turn this M-170 into an eye catching recruiting and teaching tool.
ALSO: ONE 1953 Willys M-170 INCLUDED FOR PARTS! The body is rough, condition of drive train and engine unknown. 24 volt system parts intact, condition unknown. 3 wheels with various size tires on the vehicle (4 if you take the spare off the M-170 above). Bought for parts only, but it could be a possible restoration project.
Price: $ 16,500 USD for both; will not part out, and will not separate.
