Hi there!

What I need is the correct M38A1 windshield rope channel that runs across the top front of the winshield that the canopy slots into.

OPTIONS:-

*rope channel ready to weld on

*the top section of a unserviceable windshield that I can remove the rope channel from

*information of where or whom I may be able to get what I need from

Thanks!
Phil...

John at Midwest Military had them last year, I replaced the one on my M38 along with the sides. The top one was NOS.

Unfortunatly John does not have any and wishes he did. I'm getting a windshield frame off him but it has had the rope channel removed. He thinks they were ear-marked for 106mm carrier convertion.

D & L Bensinger lists them on their website for $30 NOS. I got mine there several years ago. Here's the link to the page that has them listed:

Under body parts and accessories.
Hopefully they are still in stock.

Careful! The M38 and M38A1 are different. One is flat and the other very curved. The soft top manufacturers sell generics the correct shape if you can't find a military NOS or repop.

True, they are and he lists both types on his website. Be sure to specify which one you are looking for.
