Ha I always wondered why JD chose green when they were going to be in the field.....Guess the original add was "John Dear out "hiding" in the field" not "Standing"

Well got the knuckles back together and just wanted to post a follow up in case any one else is wondering about the different seal types. One thing I had to do was add washers behind the bolt that hits the steering stop to space them out to the thickness of the original seals. If I did not add the washers the degree of steering was increased because the new seal plate was thinner than the original. I know I could have ground down the weld on the adjustment screw and "did it right" but adding the washers was a lot easier at this time. Other than the change in steering angle they went on without a problem and are holding the grease in fine, so far, but it is VERY cold now, time will tell. SO....JMO unless you are worried about ORIGINALITY the new seals work fine as replacements. Thanks again to all that helped me.
