As far as I'm concerned, M38A1s didnt have turn signal switches, unless a civy put one on. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure I'm right.

Turn signals were added after the fact by some units depending on where they were used.

You need to look for the green military turn signal switch with a green lamp on the top... same switch is used in most all M series vehicles. Also needed will be the turn signal control box... if you are 24volt that is.

John at Midwest Military carries the turn signal kit complete for $125 plus or minus...

The military had a kit for retrofitting turn signals. It used a Signal-Stat switch with a green light in the end of the handle. The flasher unit was the big green junction box type. The kit came with a big coil of wire and a nice kit of connector parts, both Douglas and the later rubber type. Also hardware. I got mine from Brent Mullins.
