I am looking to buy an MT-299. I have located one at a decent price, but I want to check out the market to see what's out there before I buy. _________________ Matt

If you have located one at a decent price then just buy it. Too many times I have hesitated buying something thinking I might find one cheaper and ended up loosing out and not getting one at all. Just saying!

Did you buy a mount from him, and if so, were all the mechanical parts in good working order and the control box also? I sent him a request for more pics and asked the same questions, but haven't gotten a reply yet - but it is the weekend though! _________________ Matt

The MT-298 Mount is huge, it is for the Radio, Power supply and additional receivers... it will have to mount across the rear of the jeep not on the fender well.
The MT-299 only holds the RT (66,67 or 6 and the Power supply... also does not have a control box... well mine did not and I have not seen one in the manuals...
If you find a MT-299, buy it... they are that rare at this point...
I have taken the time to mount my MT-299 with a PS-112 and RT-68... For anyone wanting to make their PS-112 work, I did find a source of Vibrators for it...
Hope this helps... _________________ Hal, KB1ZQ

OK, next question. Where can I buy the power feed socket/bracket and wire (the one that is mounted beside the passenger seat)? I saw the post on here where the guy was asking what the socket and speaker mount were worth. I PM'd him, but he didn't answer. _________________ Matt

Yep - found it last night. One of the other big dealers has it too - same price. I was hoping for a little but cheaper way to get one, but oh well - you gotta spend the big bucks in this hobby now days! _________________ Matt

Well, my mt-299 and an ls-166 speaker are on the way thanks to BWG Surplus. It is definitely going to need painting - and a power cable. I have a 4' cable already, so thats not a problem. Also, I am going to mount it on the passenger wheel well (I know this isn't "correct"), so it is long enough.
Other stuff I know I will need are a handset and a cx-330 cover. Thanks for the help guys! _________________ Matt
