Can someone help with ID'g the applications if any for any of these bolts on the M38. They are representative of a collection of bolts from M38A1 and M170 restorations that Claudio would like to use in his M38 resto.
Please use the reference numbers if you have any info to post. _________________ Wes K

He needs a copy of the M38 reference guide that has photos and dimensions - or at the least the ORD 9 that will list dimensions and thread.
Need the lengths and diameter/thread (course/fine) measurements to know for sure.
Also note that gold coated cadmium holds up better than silver cad to corrosion, the proper finish is silver cadmium.
Here is my first impression, need more info on all of these for proper ID
1. Oil pan or top bow brackets rear and front storage
2. Oil pan
3. bumper, front - to frame horns
4. ?
5. top bow brackets middle with the slot for the up position, also on the vent cover in the windshield, cowl battery tray mounting
6. same as 5
7. Floor pans, rear tail light inner fender deflector, etc. etc.
8. need more info
9. bumper to frame or wood filler, need more info
10. windshield wipers and windshield latch - if they are long

Wow...thanks Ryan...I better go home and study the lesson for a new question. Well, this is a good start.
I still wonder about these different brands stamped on bolt heads. On a PM Wes meant that vehicle manufacturers had different part suppliers and since bolts are referred as part numbers (not brands), bolts could have different IDs. Generally these are greasy or paint coated on the recessed heads, so hiding the IDs. My other concern to install them on a jeep is to be prevented for questions demanded from other silly MV collectors, cornering the owner to give an immediate and accurate response Please don't laugh at me...
I am not sure if there are guys like these in the USA ???

I might be able to. Problem is looking through all the scanned microfiche would take a very long time.
I did check into having some made like they do for 60's ford mustangs. They wanted a minimum amount and I backed off because I don't think there is enough demand to break even. _________________ Ryan Miller
