I scored me a Kaiser Supersonic head. It had a crack, but I had it pinned. My current head has a coolant feed hose in the front. I presume this is to facillitate faster heating of coolant by feeding it to the head. The Kaiser Supersonic does not have an inlet in the front for coolant. What is the reason for the water-cooled head (if that is what it is) when some jeep heads are clearly not water cooled (as in the Kaiser Supersonic head). Any reason I can't
install that Kaiser head on my jeep (my engine is a CJ2a in an M-38 frame and body).

Thanks,

Jordan

Both heads have coolant passageways. Your Kaiser head just does not have the water pump bypass port. The purpose of the port on the M38 heads is to facilitate a faster warmup. No port then it will take longer to warm up and that's all there is to it.

I picked up a supersonic head and I'm going to put it on my M38 (just because I think it's cool).

Make sure you paint it some bright color so it sticks out.

I'm going to paint mine grey and the raised areas and letters bright red, but I'll have to take the lifting ring off so you can see it. The seats and wheels are going to be lipstick red, everthing else original.
