An interesting sale. A wee bit melodramatic on the sales pitch. The Zekely's are quite common. The Valentines are simply a CJ3A with a 28 Volt generator. Jets he speaks of without starters is questionable. Most jets had starter/generators. 28V 300 amp starter generators that sucked a lot of on board battery to start the jet so the start carts and the APU jeeps were often used to help with battery longevity. They weren't used only on jets. They started everything the Navy owned from 1949 thru the late 60's. Piston or jet they, all the light ones ( Panthers, Skyraiders, T-28C's), used 28V DC to start them. Valentine's quote included the 400 Cycle, 205 volt AC capability for the heavier jets as well.

Here's an excellent short history on this jeep and it's 19 year old owner:\

Thanks for the background Wes.

Also for sending to the right page.

I saw a Follow Me sign for sale on eBay also.

Certainly not the same, old green.

It is a cool Jeep---I got to look it over at the Willys Reunion in IL earlier this year and again in Ohio. Dad even found him the unique hour meter it has which he bought since it looked better than his.

Nick (seller) is an interesting young man, highly motivated and is making plans for his education and future. I wish him luck on the sale.
