Thanks Brian for the prompt reply!!! It seems that it might be easier to get this part and have it shipped to Brazil than trying to machine it and threading it as I thought.
All best! Claudio

Hi Claudio!
With a lathe it would not be too difficult.

The one I bought appears to be aluminum.
I believe you would want to machine it,
then while still in the lathe drill and tap.

I think.

Mine is split at the threaded end, I'm guessing
to help hold it on the threads. Although that
doesn't make much sense.

Take care,

Thank you again Brian! The dismeter of this item seems to be easy to suggest, of course enough to fit in the steering wheel column of the upper end. The height of it may be taken by scale.
Restoring a vehicle over here and depending on imported parts is always a bad issue, so thanks for your attention Brian.
Wes has been patient with me since a long time, he knows my problematic!!!
And finally, accept my excuses for my weird English at writing.

I can provide a few dimensions if you want to hog one out.

Hello Claudio,

It appears aluminum.

I believe the thread is 4-40, although mine feels a little sloppy with a 4-40 screw in it. If you have the rod, thread the fitting to match.

Note the taper on the small end that goes down into the tube, and the taper into the bore for the threads.

Take care,
