Short bow goes to the front. Center of common bolt hole at bottom to horizontal rod hole at top.

my bows are in the down position on the jeep. hooking a tape on the end of the short bow, it measures 25 1/2 to a 3/8 hole. I have a NOS short bow for a spare and when I lay it down and measure to the 3/8 hole it's 25 3/4h.
I think I would put the top on and lay the rod in the sleeve it lives in and check the measurement that way...be sure the top is warm and tight.

That’s good advice. Your measurements are within reason.
I was measuring from the center of each hole.

Those 5 photos I started this post with have vanished along with the online photo storage site I had them on back in 2008.

Any chance anyone here downloaded my 5 photos and still have them and remember where they are? Perhaps you could post them again here?
