Hi, I would like to carry out the above check which I should have done when I had the manifold off to fix the Heat Riser.

I see from some postings some people take the wing off for better access. Would I be better off taking the manifold off again or can you get to all the Tappets through the compartment cover without removing parts?

Looks a bit tight for room, exhaust etc in the way.

Thanks in advance Horse.

Pull off the fender you’ll have all kinds of room!

Depending on which if any manual you are using they call for .014 lash or .016 lash. The .014 lash was the original setting and the factory posted a bulletin change to .016 to allow higher cruise speeds and better off road performance.

Hi, wing off side cover off exhaust off, plenty of room as you said.

I have two seized adjusters. I have sprayed with penetrating oil and will leave overnight.

Can you apply heat to the part or could you suggest another way?

All the others now set to 0.016 inch from being approx 0.012inch.

Thanks in advance.

After a night with the penetrating oil the two seized items are now free.

All set at the correct tolerance and running well, shame I cannot go for a drive.
